Josh Newcomb

Co-Founder & General Contractor

Josh co-owns Newcomb Design & Build. Growing up in Houston, Texas, he gained hands on experience, helping friends’ parents with home renovations around the area. This laid the foundation for his interest in construction. Josh went on to study civil engineering at UAB, focusing on structural and environmental engineering, before earning a Master’s in Crops & Soil Science from Auburn University. After graduating, Josh started his career as an estimator, which really helped him appreciate the challenges and rewards of construction. It didn’t take long before he realized how satisfying it was to see projects come together from start to finish. That’s when he decided to dive into project management. He went on to work at Brasfield & Gorrie, managing healthcare projects for five years, where attention to detail and sticking to strict timelines were key. In search of new adventures, Josh moved to Raleigh, drawn by its beautiful scenery and vibrant community. There, he expanded his experience, working on hospitality projects and eventually shifting to residential work. It was also in Raleigh where he met his wife, Cristina, who shares his passion for design and construction. Together, they started Newcomb Design & Build, bringing their combined expertise to create beautiful purpose driven spaces that enhance everyday living.

Cristina Newcomb

Co-Founder & Interior Designer

Cristina is the co-founder and co-owner of Newcomb Design & Build, where she combines her lifelong passion for design with her commitment to creating spaces that inspire and enrich everyday life. From a young age, Cristina was drawn to the beauty and potential in spaces—always seeking to design environments where people could truly live, feel satisfied in, and make lasting memories. After earning her degree in Interior Design from Syracuse University, she began her career in New York City, gaining over eight years of experience leading and designing full-scale renovations at a small commercial architectural firm. In 2023, Cristina and her close knit family made the move to Raleigh, seeking a fresh start and a place to put down new roots outside of the city. After working at Gensler for a year, meeting her husband that same year, Cristina and her husband Josh decided to take the leap and pursue their lifelong dream of founding their own design and construction firm.
